So, continuing from the last blog with an extra special night of recording we finished our song Windows. It came out really cool and I am happy with it and happy to show all of you it.

Jaime, Steve, and I then took a break and started talking about politics. We were pretty zonked out from recording the last song off and on from 12 noon to around 8PM that we were almost ready to quit.

With a second wind we decided to record the next song called The Tiger’s Back.

We did the guitar parts and were pretty spent. We started talking about JFK and 9/11 and it started to creep into the late night. I looked down at my phone and noticed that it was 12:02AM 9/11/2005.

cool I thought. The Tiger’s back was a song inspired by 9/11 and so it seemed very perfect to start recording vocals.

I sang my guts out and we ended up recording one of my favorite self recordings of all time that night. With Jaime and Steve’s extra energy we finished tracking everything at about 3AM on 9/11/05.

We were stoked.

I drove home to San Diego and passed a copy to 94.9FM that evening.

That night at 10PM on 9/11/05 they played it on the air!

I have never had a recording go to radio that fast before so I was pretty happy.
Moreover because 1) The song was inspired by 9/11, 2) We finished the recording on 9/11/05 and 3) It was aired on the radio on 9/11/05 — I thought that it was pretty cool.

It was funny because Windsor’s drummer Ian Falgout and Windsor’s bassist Micah Rabwin still hadn’t heard the finished song yet and it was already on the radio.

Anyways, thanks for hanging in there with my blabbings.

(oh yeah, and my significant other has an article in The Beach Break News in Cardiff so pick up a copy this month if you’re in the area at Ki’s or Pipes or Swami’s Cafe and check it out)

Extra special thanks to Kristen Kaos and Mary from Seattle for being Windsor’s favorite super cool fans on myspace this month- We are now fans of them!

cheers my good friends

“thanks for stopping by
I appreciate your concern for my well being…”

What movie is that quote from?

Anyways,
Life is good. My brother Jaime and I finished a couple new recordings with our good friend and engineer Steve Refling at The Lincoln Lounge in Venice, CA. We started out recording a song called Windows which was inspired by a book I read called The Celestine Prophecy. I never read so pretty much every book I do actually read and get through to the end of is a big deal for me. I reccommend this one, especially to people who don’t read much.

I was talking on the phone to my friend Tim from the band Sugarcult and he barely reads as well. He said the last book he read was The Da Vinci Code and that he really liked it. He said something really funny to me as if me and him might be missing out, he said “what if other books were this good…”

Anyways, I happened to have read that book as well bringing my total books read that I actually remember to 5 (not including Dr. Suess)
The Celestine Prophecy
The Da Vinci Code
That book with the character named Holden Caufield
and another one in fifth grade that I can’t remember
oh yeah, Call of the Wild

I am going to post another one of these blogs cause this one’s getting too long and you probably won’t take the time to read this far anyway.

Hello all,
Just checking in to say hi and thanks again for all of the nice e-mails on myspace.
Lots of fun stuff happing so fast I haven’t had much time to drop a note!

Went to watch the Padres beat the Diamondbacks at the new stadium-
My good friend Jay got us some sweet field level seats by third base-

It felt like a Ferris Bueller Day because I took the day off work and enjoyed the blue skies and the sun- It especially felt Ferris Buellerish when we heard the Beatles version of Shake It On Baby-

I borrowed my grandparents Turf Club passes and went to the track the other day and we actually won! I hit my first Trifecta ever with my friend John and then we won again and again-
it was one of those unusually good nights- we ended up going to the Coldplay concert after the track with my good friend Lindsay who happened to buy two extra tickets-

It was extra fun speeding down the freeway in Johns bad ass black Porshe Carera -very smooth

On a more downer note-
the crisis situation in New Orleans is crazy
my brother Jaime might be flying over there to help sometime soon through his job at KTLA

Fortunately my drummer’s family who is from New Orleans were some of the lucky ones and didn’t get hit by the storm- It was reassuring to talk to them and find out that they were okay-

I was speaking to one woman the other day who said she felt so guilty that she hasn’t been able to help more- I think alot of us wish we could help but don’t know where to send money because we really have no idea as to exactly where the money goes-

Let me know if anyone knows the best place to send money so we can spread good info around.

We should have new songs and a new cd soon so keep in touch and I’ll check back when we finish some more recordings.

Thanks for supporting Windsor on iTunes and at our websites!
It is greatly appreciated,
Will Doggie Dawg
